We are operational in both these areas, and work politically in order to influence the authorities.

The operational aspect of our preparedness and rescue work is run mainly by our members on a volunteer basis. Based on this experience with volunteer workers, Norwegian People’s Aid lobbies for better conditions for volunteers, as well as better conditions for practising rescue work. For the asylum/integration aspect of our national work, Norwegian People’s Aid runs eleven refugee reception centres. We also offer businesses, schools and clubs, courses on integration and anti-racism. Some of our members also volunteer in giving lectures and courses on the aforementioned topics, while other members volunteer at the refugee centres.

Norwegian People’s Aid works politically to promote the rights of asylum seekers, and to challenge prejudice among the Norwegian population.  Read more about asylum and integration
