Javier Solana: the aim of the EU is "to establish a Palestinian state at the earliest possible moment within the 1967 borders."

Haaretz.com October 23, 2009. Javier Solana, the former head of Europe's Common Foreign and Security Policy. About the Goldstone report: "....it is now important to look forward and to hold an independent investigation in Israel and the other side [the Palestinians]. This would be the best outcome."

EU Presidency Statement on settlement expansion in Jerusalem. 18.11.2009

The Presidency of the European Union is dismayed by the recent decision on the expansion of the settlement of Gilo. The Presidency recalls that settlement activities, house demolitions and evictions in East Jerusalem are illegal under international law.
